First Baptist Church Maumelle, 100 Valencia Drive: The church welcomes all women for a weekly Bible study and get-together called Friend Me. The hour-and-a-half get-togethers will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Fellowship Hall of the Activities Building. Each of the six get-togethers are designed to take away the insecurities and awkwardness of joining a new group in a friendly and non-threatening way. The sessions will include Bible study, discussion, prayer and food. The $10 fee covers the literature expense. First Christian Church of Maumelle, 4001 Club Manor Drive: The Rev. Shari Coote will be the guest speaker Sunday. The topic "Protected and Connected," based on John 10:20-30, will be the sermon. The Rev. Coote is the former minister at Pulaski Heights Christian Church and now is the chairperson of Interfaith Hospitality Network. First United Methodist Church of Maumelle, 1201 Edgewood Drive: The church will have its worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday at Lake Willastein followed by a family picnic. Bring your lawn chairs and picnic lunch and enjoy music by the chancel choir, praise team and men’s ensemble. There will not be any services or activities at the church on Sunday. Next week, the church will resume its regular Sunday schedule. Contemporary worship is at 8:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. Graves Memorial Baptist Church, 4617 Oak Grove Road, North Little Rock: Something big is under way for all the guys. There will be roller skating tonight, meeting first at the church at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $7.
A mission trip to Nebraska from the church will be July 21-28. Everyone is welcome to volunteer, including singles, those who are married, youth and children.
