Members of the Maumelle Newcomers Club spent Nov. 7 placing American flags on the graves of local cemeteries. They did receive a little assistance from a couple of spouses. After scouting out all the modern veteran deaths, the members placed flags on the unmarked graves of Civil War soldiers buried there. Posing for a photo after the job was completed at Riverwood Memorial Gardens are: First row, from left: Kathy Kafka and Michelle Stell; Second row: Ruby Nelson, Carol Slaymaker and Carol Ladner; Third row: Enny Gottschalk and Joan Ann Olsen and Top row: Doug Ladner and Jamie Stell.
