The Family and Consumer Sciences class at Maumelle High School recently completed a unit on individual relationships and marriage.

The study culminated with a mock wedding on the stage in the school’s auditorium last week, complete with hand-created invitations, music and a formal ceremony, which included the exchange of Ring Pops.

Marilyn Hunt, the class’ teacher, said the unit, overall, teaches students planning for future relationships and how to communicate. Project-based learning like this engages students and makes them successful in the classroom.
