Boy Scout Troop 295 from Maumelle, chartered by First United Methodist Church, returned home Saturday from Summer Camp at Camp Rockefeller on the Gus Blass Scout Reservation, Damascus. A full week of camp included classes on basic Scout skills and work on merit badges such as First Aid, Small Boat Sailing, Wilderness Survival, Canoeing, Lifesaving, Astronomy, and Archery. Older Scouts from the Troop enjoyed the camp’s "Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience" (C.O.P.E) ropes course. Free time was spent swimming at the pool, climbing the rock wall, fishing at the lake, rehearsing skits for the campfire, or just exploring and having fun. Youth at camp all week were (back row) Tom Cornwell, Jackson Brannon, Parker Brannon, Daniel Darnell, Luke Carden, Reed Wallace, Peyton Boggs, (front row) C.J. Reed, Ian Mason, Ryan Darragh, Karsen Beck, and (not pictured) Jailon Bailes.
