Pile after pile of debris from the Christmas 2012 Blizzard is stacked up in back of Maumelle Public Works in piles 20 to 30 feet high awaiting its turn to burn under a special burn permit the city obtained from the state. Robert Cogdell, public works director said his workers have picked up 4,000 cubic yards of storm debris but he’s unsure whether they’re even halfway done or not. Some parts of town haven’t even been touched yet, he said and others have already been picked up once but now need it again. It will take months before the remnants of last Christmas storm are all gone, he said.
