Central Arkansas Christian’s baseball Mustangs opened 7-4A conference play Monday with a 6-5 loss at Arkansas Baptist.

It was the third consecutive one-run game for Ryan Stauder’s team, which split with Bauxite and Harding Academy during the Mayflower Invitational over the weekend.

The Mustangs were 5-6 entering Tuesday’s non-conference game with Carlisle. They’ll resume conference play on Monday, April 7 when they play host to Arkadelphia, the defending Class 4A state champion. Lonoke will visit for a non-conference game on Tuesday, April 8.

Against Baptist, Jack Partlow picked up the loss in relief. He went two-for-four with three RBIs with two doubles.

Against Harding Academy, Cade Huckaby, Ryan Dillard, Jack Thomas, Colby Richburg and Austin Holley accounted for the five hits. Richburg had two RBIs. Braden Quesinberry picked up the loss.

Against Bauxite, Jack Thomas went two-for-three with two runs scored, a walk and an RBI. Jack Partlow was two-for-three with a run scored, a walk and an RBI. Partlow got the win in relief.
