The Country Club of Arkansas will be the site of next week’s Arkansas State Golf Association Parent-Child Championship.

But the event is much more than that.

It’s actually called the Parent-Child Championship and Grandparent-Grandchild Championship.

Parent-Child (and steps are included) includes Mother-Daughter, Mother-Son, Father-Daughter and Father-Son. The Grandparent-Grandchild category includes Grandmother-Granddaughter, Grandmother-Grandson, Grandfather-Grandson and Grandfather-Granddaughter. Other categories are Mother-in-Law/Son-in-Law, Father-in-Law/Daughter-in-Law and PGA Pro/Child.

So there’s something for everyone in the 18-hole tournament.

Minimum age is 10. Entry fee is $100 per team. The 1:30 p.m. shotgun start medal-play event will feature alternate shot on the par-3s, scramble on the par-4s and best ball on the par-5s.

For more information, contact CCA at 851-0095.

Following last week’s 50th ASGA Junior Stroke Play Championship at Big Creek Country Club in Mountain Home, the state’s junior circuit will visit Burns Park Thursday and Friday.

The Burns Park Junior Stroke, which at press time was still accepting entries, will feature a 9 a.m. shotgun start Thursday and an 8 a.m. shotgun on Friday.
