On Saturday, April 22 the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce and the Maumelle Lions Club will be hosting the inaugural Youth Community Impact Showcase at The Jess Odom Community Center located at 1100 Edgewood.


The showcase will start at 10 a.m., and last until 2 p.m. It will highlight service and environmental projects from local students.


Those eligible to compete include those who live in Maumelle and those who attend Maumelle schools from Kindergarten to Senior year in high school.


Registration deadline is April 14 and each grade level will have different judging criteria. Projects can be submitted as a team or by an individual student.


The different grade levels are:


Kindergarten: Poster or Artwork that shows how you can help others or ways to protect the environment


1st-2nd grades: Poster or Artwork


3rd-5th grades: Program, idea or concept the student has created that helps others or the environment


6th-8th grades: Same


9th-12th grades: Same


Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place.
