Maumelle’s Michael McNeil was recently named Officer of the Year by the Arkansas Court Officers Association.

McNeil is the Probation Officer, Court Security Officer and Deputy Clerk for the Maumelle District Court. Judge Rita Bailey is the Maumelle District Court Judge. He has been with court since 2005. This is his second nomination for the award.

The Arkansas Court Officers Association seeks to provide Bailiff’s, Court Security Officers, Probation Officers and court personnel, the most current information and training on law enforcement trends and security. The Officer of the Year is given to a person who has gone above and beyond the call of duty in their job, within the association, and within their community.

“I am very humbled to have been nominated by two judges, our police chief and several others I have great respect for,” McNeil said. I am also thankful for my wife for putting up with all the hours I have put in this job,” he added.

McNeil was recently elected president of the Maumelle Fraternal Order of Police.
