The 14th Annual Ken Watson Golf Tournament will take place Friday, June 9 at Maumelle Country Club with a shotgun start at8 a.m. Lunch will be provided after the round and numerous prize opportunities are available.
This community event is sponsored by businesses and individuals throughout Maumelle and Central Arkansas. Proceeds from the effort with various projects including Hope Alliance, a food pantry serving the Maumelle community, the youth of First United Methodist Church of Maumelle, Veterans of Central Arkansas and other worthy causes. The event is sponsored by the United Methodist Men of Maumelle and named in honor of church member and avid golfer Ken Watson, who died in 2003.
Returning this year is Christina Lecuyer who will challenge our participants for closest to the hole on the Par 3, number 8. After an outstanding collegiate career, Christina entered the professional circuit. She has been featured on the Golf Channel’s “Big Break” series and currently co- hosts Fox Sports “Swing Clinic.”
Ryan Spurlock, Maumelle Country Club’s new rising star, will be on Par 5, number 2 helping to position each team with a monster drive. Spurlock, after an accomplished career playing for the Maumelle High School Golf team, won the GAC Freshman of the year while playing at Arkansas Tech.
