Scott Hardin was named Director of Communications for Department of Finance and Administration on Monday.

The announcement was made by Larry Walther, director of the agency.

Hardin will start in the position on Monday, July 31.

Jake Bleed, who previously served as DFA’s Communications Director, accepted a position in the Governor’s office in early July.

Hardin was formerly the director of communications for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission or AEDC.

“Following many years at AEDC, I am honored to join Director Walther and DF&A,” Hardin said in a release. “DF&A serves and has an impact on each and every Arkansan. I look forward to sharing information on the many ways this agency is working daily to keep our great state functioning at a high level.”

Hardin is a Russellville native and a graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He joined AEDC in June 2001. He and his wife Avie live in Little Rock with their son Harrison.

He is the son of Luther and Mary Hardin of Maumelle and his sister, Mallory, is an on-air personality for KARK-TV.
