The official start of Sherwood Fest is the annual Sherwood Fest 5K Fun Run presented by the Rotary Club of Sherwood. The 5K will begin at 8 am on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Sherwood Forest. The 5K has been dubbed “Conquer the Climb” because the race course ends with a challenging uphill segment right before the finish line.

Immediately following the 5K will be the 1K Family Run/Walk. This is slated to start around 9 a.m., and strollers and “people-friendly pets” with current tags are invited to participate.

Registration is online via and the registration deadline is Sept. 27 to guarantee a race t-shirt. All money raised through this event go towards Sherwood Rotary scholarships and youth programs.

Sherwood’s Park and Recreation is also seeking volunteers and vendors for the annual Sherwood Fest.

There are many ways to get involved, from running contests and managing bounce houses to setting up for the event or keeping the festival grounds tidy. We welcome any family-friendly business or individual to get involved in this fun-filled community event as either a vendor, a volunteer or both.”

The pricing for concession vendors is $125 during the month of August and increase to $150 from Sept. 1-15. Regular vendor prices are $75 through August and $100 in September.
