North Little Rock:
Boat show set for Saturday
The Heartland Classics Antique and Classic Boat Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum at 120 Riverfront Park Drive in North Little Rock.
“This will be the first time for us to be in North Little Rock,” says John Davenport, the event coordinator. “We hope that this year will start an annual tradition of bringing boaters to Central Arkansas.”
The boat show will be a static display of boats in the water at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum docks. Free and open to the public, the show will include some of the classic boats completing the 370-mile Arkansas River Odyssey that begins on the previous Sunday in Muskogee, Okla., and ends in Pendleton. After the show, boat participants will cruise the Arkansas River and enjoy the area.
The show is sponsored by the Heartland Classics chapter of Antique and Classic Boat Society, an organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic, antique and classic boats of all material types including wood, fiberglass, steel, aluminum and others and provides education about their heritage. Heartland Classics represents boaters in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska.
