The Kiwanis Club was formed in 1949 and has continuously served the children of North Little Rock since that time.

A new slate of officers were recently elected and they are: Haskell Anderson, Secretary; Brennan Abbey, President; John Drake, Vice President-President Elect; and Travis Ledbetter, Immediate Past President, while Nadine Grady is Treasurer.

Among their projects of service are the Key Club of North Little Rock High School; Thanksgiving food furnished and delivered to needy families (assisted by the North Little Rock Police Department); providing books to promote reading twice a year for all the fourth grade students in the school district; conducting a “Terrific Kids Award” program in three elementary schools in the district; and providing Christmas gifts to all the children in the UAMS Headstart School in NLR.

The club meets every Thursday at noon at American Pie Pizza in Lakewood.

Outstanding speakers and good fellowship are the rule.

Club membership is open to all business and professional people, as well as those retired who are interested in serving the youth of our city in a meaningful way. More information can be found on their website: and Club of North Little Rock.
