A state-wide set of meetings for members of the United Methodist Church in Arkansas will start in North Little Rock.


The meeting will be held at First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock’s Indian Hills neighborhood and will start at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13.


It will be hosted by Bishop Gary Mueller, head of the Arkansas Conference of United Methodists.


The meetings are for the Commission on a Way Forward, which is designed to deal with LGBT issues in the 21st century. The meetings will provide feedback and allow those in attendance to ask questions about the concepts put forth by the commission.


The meetings will also provide an overview of history, the church’s process, preliminary models, and what’s next.


Facilitate discussion among attendees about strengths, weaknesses, and questions regarding the three preliminary models.
