Maumelle’s J.D. Lowery, manager of economic development for Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC), was recently named to the board of directors of the Southern Economic Development Council (SEDC).
Lowery, who began his career with AECC in 2015, will serve a two-year term on the SEDC board. He has been a member of SEDC, the oldest and largest regional economic development association in North America, for almost three years. He was chosen for the board position by his Arkansas peers.
“I congratulate J.D. on being elected to serve on SEDC’s Board of Directors for 2018,” said SEDC 2018 Chairman Sam Powers. “Representing more than 1,000 economic development professionals across the American South is an honor and validates leadership and dedication to the profession. As chairman of the board of directors this year, I am confident that he will assist us in facilitating our 2018 program of work, in addition to helping us chart our course for future programming,”
Lowery also serves on the boards of the National Rural Economic Developers Association and Arkansas Economic Developers and Chamber Executives.
