The foundation for Delta Dental of Arkansas said this week they will present Maumelle’s Counting on Each Other a grant on Thursday, Feb. 1.

The grant will be for $15,000 and will assist the organization’s efforts to provide dental care for seniors in the area.

Weldon Johnson, Executive Director of Delta Dental and Kara Wilkins, its foundation coordinator will make the presentation

““For the past nine years, the non-profit has raised funds to improve the dental health care of our low-income senior,” said David Hodges, who serves as CEO of the organization and said that they have worked with local dentists Bryan Austin and Brett DeCoursey, of, respectively, Austin Family Dentistry and Northshore Family Dental Care. “Our organization has helped over 100 seniors with their dental care needs that they could not otherwise afford.”

Hodges noted that the grant would fund dental care for “another 30 deserving senior citizens this year.”

The grant will be presented at 5:30 p.m. at Maumelle’s Center on the Lake’s Super Bowl of Volunteers event.

Billed as “volunteer appreciation” the event, the center’s Gloria Mayo said it will be a tailgate party for those who volunteer at the center.
