New Officers for the 2012-13 year of the Kiwanis Club of North Little Rock were elected in late September. Jim Lincicome was elected president; Steve Mills vice president; Haskell Anderson secretary-treasurer; and Donna Harts immediate past president. New board members going on the board are Scott Wheeler and Nadine Grady.
Pete Stabnick of Little Rock, Lieutenant Governor of Division 21-B (Greater Little Rock area), performed the installation.
Haskell Anderson of Arvest Bank was awarded the "Kiwanian of the Year" plaque. His devoted service and leadership as Secretary-Treasurer helped make the year just ended one of the best ever.
Jim Lincicome is the first to be elected as president of the club a second time in its 63 year history. He first served as president in 1991-92. He is the portfolio manager in the Trust Department of Regions Bank in Little Rock.
Perfect attendance awards were presented to Charlie Ball for 63 years perfect attendance in the club; to Bill Burgin for 52 years; Charlie Martin, 17 years; Howard Harts and Steve Mills, four years; Donna Harts three years; and Haskell Anderson for one year. Other members of the club have many years perfect attendance but just not for the year just ended.
The club is already at work in their new year, which began Oct. 1, on one of their major service projects, Thanksgiving food boxes for the needy in the community. They expect to distribute 250 boxes again this year the Saturday before Thanksgiving. They will be assisted by the Key Clubs of both the East Campus and West Campus of North Little Rock High School. The club is inviting tax-deductible donations from the community to help provide as many as possible. A check can be mailed to Kiwanis at P. O. Box 94885, North Little Rock, AR 72190. Needy families are also invited to request a box for Thanksgiving by mail to the same address.
