North Little Rock’s SweepScrub.com, a client business of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, received the 2014 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Global Trade in the small business category.

Gov. Mike Beebe presented the award to company founders Kyle and Scott Allmendinger on May 22 at a luncheon at the Governor’s Mansion. The brothers founded the business in July 2009.

Based in North Little Rock, SweepScrub.com is a wholesale e-commerce business selling used and refurbished commercial cleaning equipment and parts. SweepScrub.com has shipped to more than 30 countries on six continents.

In certain parts of the world, access to high-quality cleaning equipment is limited. SweepScrub.com helps fill the growing demand for affordable high-quality floor scrubbers, sweepers, buffers, burnishers, and other industrial-grade cleaning equipment.

Exports have become an increasingly important part of the company’s sales and last year accounted for 22 percent of total sales.

During his remarks at the luncheon, Scott Allmendinger thanked the small business center and its consultant Rudy Ortiz for assisting the company.

Organized by the Arkansas District Export Council and U.S. Commercial Service, the Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Global Trade annually recognize Arkansas companies that have distinguished themselves in international trade and exporting.

Jacksonville’s Triangle Engineering of Arkansas, won the award for medium-sized manufacturer exporter. They manufacture a line of heavy-duty fans.
