The North Little Rock City Council on Sept. 10 granted approval for a special use permit to be granted to the owners of a daycare center that wanted to open up at 10910 Maumelle Blvd.
Michael and Johnson, of Maumelle sought permission for the special use permit to allow a daycare center along the Maumelle Boulevard site. On Aug. 14, the request was approved by the North Little Rock City Planning Commission.
The council placed some restrictions on the hours of operation for the daycare to be from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Johnsons said they had no problem with the restriction of operating hours.
"It is hereby found and determined that there is a need for quality childcare in the city, and a daycare center is compatible with other commercial development in the area," according to the ordinance.
