In state tournament action on Friday, the boys teams from North Little Rock and Jacksonville both won quarterfinals games to advance to the semifinals in 7A and 5A respectively.

Jacksonville’s girls team also won on Friday and they will also be in the semifinals. North Little Rock’s girls team won its quarterfinals game on Thursday and will also play on Saturday.

North Little Rock beat Bryant, 82-44, and will play the winner of Springdale-West Memphis at 8:30 p.m. in the Saturday nightcap, while the Girls team will get the day going at noon in a game against Fort Smith Northside.

For those traveling, be advised that because of the Arkansas-Kentucky basketball, parking is expected to be a mess at Fayetteville High School, the host of the 7A Tournament.

In boys action, Jacksonville handled Wynne easily, 61-37 and will play the winner of the Clarksville-Forrest City game at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. On the girls side of the bracket, Jacksonville beat Camden Fairview, 62-50, and will face the winner of Huntsville-Beebe at 6 p.m. Both games will be played at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.

In 4A action, Central Arkansas Christian’s 20-game winning streak came to an end as Pocahontas won, 45-31. CAC’s Logan Stafford led all scorers with 13 points. CAC’s season ends at 27-6.
