Maumelle’s Rhonda L. Perkins recently received the Arkansas Children’s Program Administrator Certificate. Perkins is Site Manager for UAMS Davis Head Start in Little Rock.

Perkins earned the certificate after completing 60 hours of training. Topics included organizational management, supervision, legal and financial management, and family and community relations.

Eight children’s program administrators from across the state were recognized during a leadership banquet at the Holiday Inn Airport Conference Center. Diana Courson and Geania Dickey presented the certificates.

The certificate program increases the knowledge and skills of children’s program administrators in Arkansas. The training course supports administrators in their continued efforts to educate and care for children. Children’s programs provide essential services for families and communities throughout the state.

Arkansas State University Childhood Services coordinates the certificate program. The Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Education provides funding for the program.
