Three suspects in the shooting death of EZ Mart clerk Akiya Egeston pleaded innocent Tuesday in North Little Rock district court. The men are currently being held in jail with no bond set.
On Friday, a joint effort between the North Little Rock and Jacksonville police departments resulted in the arrest of Jacobi Robinson, 20, 1201 South Road #D, Jacksonville.
Robinson was arrested at his residence without incident. A post Miranda interview was conducted at which time Robinson acknowledged his involvement in this crime and shooting the store clerk. Robinson has been charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery.
At approximately 3 p.m. the same day, North Little Rock police along with the Arkansas State Police arrested Davion Howard, 19, for capital murder and aggravated robbery for his involvement in this incident. Howard was arrested in Texarkana and was being transported to the North Little Rock Police Department on Friday.
Investigators of the North Little Rock Police Department have also obtained capital murder and aggravated robbery warrants for Maclin Rogers, 20, which had a last known address of 1007 Wright St., Jacksonville, for his involvement in this crime.
Police added that Davion Howard has been connected to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Jacksonville on Sept. 21. The Jacksonville Police Department has obtained a aggravated robbery warrant for Howard’s arrest for his involvement in that incident.
The store clerk was found to be deceased; the result of an apparent robbery/homicide. Since that time the investigation has led detectives to obtain arrest warrants for three suspects for their involvement in this incident.
On Sept. 22 at approximately 9:12 p.m., officers of the North Little Rock Police Department responded to a call for service at the E-Z Mart convenience store located at 3600 MacArthur Drive.
