Dorothy Kellum Linsley, 92, of North Little Rock died Tuesday, June 26, 2012. She was born in Jonesboro to Kenneth W. and Minnie Ola McFarlin Kellum. In 1957 during the segregation crisis, she was active in the Women’s Emergency Committee and the STOP Campaign to reopen Central High School and stop the firing of qualified teachers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde T. Linsley Sr.; and a grandson, Eric B. Linsley.

Survivors include three sons, Clyde T. Linsley Jr. and wife Nancy of Annandale, Va., Richard Linsley and wife Martha of Jacksonville and Jim Linsley and wife Wanda of North Little Rock; two brothers, Kenneth W. Kellum Jr. and wife Theresa of Fort Myers, Fla., and Mack Kellum and wife Sybil of North Little Rock; a sister, Bessie May Kellum Pope of Alexander; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Little Rock Funeral Home, 8801 Knoedl Court. (northwest corner of Interstate 630 and Barrow Road). A service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 29, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock.
