Eugene Kresse died on Thursday, Jan. 10. He was born on Jan. 15, 1922 in North Little Rock, one of identical twins. He and his twin brother Joseph walked across the railroad bridge to Little Rock to attend Catholic High School. After serving in the Navy and Coast Guard during World War Two.

The first job was at Wrape Stave Company. During that time, Gene attended night school to become an accountant. He went to work in accounting at Visking Corporation, which Chicopee Manufacturing later acquired.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Karen Kresse; parents, Herman and Emma Kresse; brothers, Herman Kresse, Lawrence Kresse, and Joseph Kresse; and sisters, Theresa Kresse Brucker, Monica Kresse Climer, Emma Kresse Mayes and Leona Kresse Ritchie.

Survivors include wife Dorris; children, Tom Kresse and wife Sandy, Kathy Kresse, Christy Leach and husband Jim, Tim Kresse, Greg Kresse and wife Julie, Cynthia Kresse, Sharon Kresse and fiance Bevan Alvey, Lisa Patterson and husband Paul, Kevin Kresse and wife Bridget, John Kresse; brother Andrew Kresse; twenty-three grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial was held Monday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

The family requests memorials be made to St Patrick’s Church in lieu of flowers.
