Francis Howard Cook, 96, of North Little Rock died Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012. He was born April 30, 1916 in Wiville in Woodruff County. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, and the Triune Sunday School class.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Pulaski Heights Lodge #673. He served in the United States Coast Guard aboard the USS Admiral Mayo in World War II. He graduated from Little Rock High School and worked for Kroger and Safeway until retirement.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel E. Cook; brothers, Fred Cook and E.S. Cook; sister, Kathrine Kincaid; and three half-brothers, Nick, Wyatt, and E.B. (Bo) Matkin.
Survivors include daughters, Erma Davenport of Hot Springs and Deborah Hicks of Tampa, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; nephew and nieces, Delano and Lynette Black of Memphis, and Sandra Kincaid of New York; and several other extended family members.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
