Gene Autry James Sr., of North Little Rock, passed July 13 at his home.

He was born in Wabbaseka on Oct. 10, 1950 to the late Frank James Sr. and Rachel Perry James. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Samuel Allen, Willie Lee James, Jeff James, Sidney James, two sisters, Earsalean James, and Frankie M. Brown.

He attended and graduated from the Wabbaseka School in 1969; afterward he joined the United States Air Force. He attended many other institutions to further his education, Coyne Institute in Chicago. He received certification in Air conditioning and Refrigeration. During this time, he accepted employment at the United Postal Service where he served as Mechanical Engineer and retired after thirty years.

He leaves to mourn his loving wife Betty James of Chicago; two children daughter, Jennifer D. Suell of Jacksonville, son, Gene A. James Jr. of North Little Rock; his mother Essie Lee James(mother dear), eight sisters, Iona Bowden, of Harvey, Ill., Berniece (Alfonzo) Reed, Ann Maxwell, Norolyn(Andrew)Riggins, Geneva James, Alma(Anthony) Topp all of Pine Bluff, Elma Halton of Fredericksburg, Va., Glory James of Gainesville, Fla., Amelia(Henry)Farver of Austell, Ga., one brother Frank (Della) James of Grady; eleven grandchildren, nieces,nephews, cousins, mother in law, Rosie Lee Holmes of Pine Bluff special family members, Cleveland, Gwendolyn West of North Little Rock, Ark.,

He was truly loved by many people he encountered. Visitation may be made Friday 5-7 p.m. at Mt .Carmel MBC. Services will be held Saturday 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel MBC, Rev. Anthony Craig pastor.

Burial will follow at Wabbaseka Cemetery, Wabbaseka.
