James Donald Phillips, 79, of North Little Rock died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012.He was born in Holly Grove to John F. and Addie Skinner Phillips.

He has been actively serving Citizens Fidelity Insurance Company as Director of the Employee Benefits Division for nearly a quarter century. He was awarded and recognized for decades for his achievements and contributions to Citizens Fidelity as well as his service and contributions to the Insurance Profession for more than half of his life. He was a member of the Park Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; recently by his wife of 60 years, Mary J. Phillips; sister, Faith Everette and brother, Jack Phillips.

Survivors include sons, Donnie Phillips and wife Michele and John Gordon Phillips and wife Tina;daughter, Terrie James and husband Danny; grandchildren, Keith James and wife Lisa, Andrew Phillips and wife Rachael, Wes Phillips, and Olivia Phillips; great-grandchildren, Danny James, III and Genesis James; and a host of other family and friends.

A funeral service was 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, with Dr. Ken Shaddox officiating. Burial was in Riverwood Memorial Gardens.
