Roy Franklin Duncan, Sr., 67, of Sherwood died Tuesday, Jan. 1. He was retired owner/operator of Duncan Typewriter Service.

He served his country in the U.S. Army for three years (Ft. Hood, Texas and Korea) with honorable discharge. His father started the Roy Duncan Typewriter Shop in Little Rock in the early 1950’s. He assumed ownership in 1979. In his community, he was known as "The Typewriter Man."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Phoebe Duncan; and sister, Sonia Duncan.

Survivors include daughters, Frankie Michelle Duncan of Sherwood, Sue Anne Edford of Okla.; son, Roy F. Duncan, Jr.; granddaughter, Erica of Sherwood; sisters, Nancy Disbrow of Phoenix, Ariz.; Linda Bixby of Roanoke, Va.; Sarah Jones and husband James of Jones, Okla.; Sandra Rippey of Ft. Smith; and many friends.

A funeral was held Saturday, Jan. 5, at the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in Rest Hills Memorial Park.
