Thomas O. Simmons, 80, of North Little Rock died Friday, December 21, 2012. After graduating from North Little Rock High School, he worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad for ten years. He retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard, and was a retired Captain from the North Little Rock Fire Department and serving in the Fire Marshal’s Office. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church and a Master Mason at Big Rock Lodge for 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas O. Simmons, Sr. and Pearl Hand Simmons.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Connie S. Simmons; daughters, Karen Simmons Ashley and husband Bryant and Barbara Simmons Satterfield; son, Thomas Dean Simmons and wife Diane; grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Montgomery and husband Blake, Daniel Ashley and fiancee Andrea Nehus, Sy Satterfield and Bret Satterfield; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Laney Montgomery; and brother, Jack Simmons and wife Marilyn.
A funeral was held at 10 a.m., Wednesday at Baring Cross Baptist Church. Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Friday at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
