The Sylvan Hills Bears and Lady Bears couldn’t get past Little Rock Christian Senior Night, Tuesday night, but both are already locked into their playoff positions.

The Lady Bears were held scoreless and had issues keeping possession of the ball against the Lady Warriors.

Little Rock Christian will be the No. 2 seed in next week’s state tournament in Harrison, while Sylvan Hills will be the third seed.

The boys had a little better night, but still came up short in a 2-1 loss. The Bears got physical with the Warriors, keeping the game scoreless through halftime. Junior goalkeeper James Waller made multiple saves in the first half to keep the game knotted.

Little Rock Christian came out of halftime with a quick goal to take a 1-0 lead. After another goal midway through the second half, Sylvan Hills finally broke through the defense for a goal by Chace Pieper to pull within one at what became the final 2-1 score.

Sylvan Hills had another shot on goal at the buzzer, but couldn’t pull out off the tie. The Bears will also be the third seed in the Class 5A state tournament next week.
