Debra Asbury of Sherwood was recently appointed to the Board of Trustees of The Appraisal Foundation.

"I am honored to be appointed as IAAO’s representative to The Appraisal Foundation’s Board of Trustees," Ashbury said. "I look forward to being a part of making improvements/refining appraisal standards and appraiser qualifications."

Asbury was appointed by the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO), a sponsoring organization of The Appraisal Foundation.

Asbury is the Executive Director of the State of Arkansas’ Assessment Coordination Department and has held this position since 2003. Prior to joining the Department in 1989, she worked for the Pulaski County Assessor’s Office, Cole-Layer-Trumble (now Tyler Technologies), and the Surdex Mapping Corporation. She has been an active member of IAAO for 28 years, serving as the association’s President in 2012. She currently sits on IAAO’s Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) Committee. She holds an Appraisal Manager Certificate and a Level 4 Senior Appraiser Certificate from the State of Arkansas Training and Designation Program.

The Appraisal Foundation’s Board of Trustees ensures that the profession adapts to changing circumstances and continues to move forward. The Board oversees the work of Foundation’s other three independent boards, which provide appraisers with amended standards so that their work remains thorough, up to date, and accurate; offer voluntary guidance on recognized valuation methods and techniques to address the most pressing valuation questions; and sets minimum qualifications for real estate appraisers.
