The Sylvan Hills Lady Bears have had a pretty long season, and Tuesday didn’t help with a 66-26 loss to the Jacksonville Lady Red Devils.

Sylvan Hills certainly gave their all, but the senior-laden Lady Devils were on a mission.

Jacksonville suffered a bad loss at Pulaski Academy Friday night, where they also had their head coach ejected after a pair of technical fouls. Jacksonville had been battling with Pulaski Academy and Little Rock Christian for the top spot in the conference all season long.

The experienced Lady Devils jumped ahead early on the Lady Bears and never looked back. Sylvan Hills did have a larger roster for this game, but that was thanks to extra freshmen making the trip after being called up.

Sylvan Hills was led by Ashley Neasley and Sa’Mya Farmer each scoring five points. Sarah Beckwith and Jancy Duncan scored four points apiece, while Courtney Boutte’ added a free throw and a bucket for three points.

Sylvan Hills still has one more game to play for pride and for the young players to show coach Shelley Davis what they have for next year. The Lady Bears travel to take on the Mills Lady Comets on Friday.
