The Sylvan Hills Lady Bears went into spring break on a roll, with two blowout wins over Little Rock Christian and a walk-off win over Fordyce.

Against the Fordyce Red Bugs, the Lady Bears had to come from behind in the final inning.

Down 4-3, Jordie Flippo drove in the tying and winning runs with a walk-off triple by the speedy centerfielder. Flippo and Cara Pozza each had three hits in the game, while Callie Cavender and Ashley Broadway had two hits apiece. Cavender picked up the win for the Lady Bears.

There was no need for those kinds of heroics in a conference double-header sweep over the Lady Warriors from Little Rock Christian earlier last week.

The Lady Bears beat the Lady Warriors 16-0 and 19-0 in a pair of mercy-rule wins.

Almost every Lady Bear got in on the offensive act, giving Cavender more than enough run support for the wins.

Ashley Broadway led the Lady Bears with three singles and a run scored. Taylor Yeoman came off the bench for a double, single a run. Tori Crites was the only other Lady Bear with multiple hits, as she had a pair of singles and scored a run.

Sylvan Hills probably would have had more hit, but were issued several free passes. Flippo scored two runs of off three walks. Cavender had a single, walk, was hit by a pitch and reached on an error to score her three runs.

Pozza had a single, walk and scored two runs, while Maddison Phillips doubled and scored. Tristen Goodsen singled and scored, while Wendi Wilkins and Lynlee Broadway each walked and scored.

The Lady Bears will be back on the field Monday when they have a rematch with the North Little Rock Lady Charging Wildcats. North Little Rock defeated Sylvan Hills in the Benton Tournament earlier this season.
