The Sylvan Hills track team isn’t the largest in the state, but they put together some good performances in the Hornet Relays at Bryant last week.

The Bears placed in several events, and had one athlete break out and win his event easily.

Tre West used a 6-foot-4 leap in the High Jump to take a pretty easy win for the Bears. The next closest competitor was four inches behind West.

Sylvan Hills had a pair of athletes finish in the top ten in the Triple Jump. Tra Doss finished in ninth place, while Malik Strong was right behind him in tenth.

Quincy Flowers was the other Sylvan Hills Bear to post a top ten finish when he finished eighth in the 100m Dash.

The Bears showed off their team speed in the relay events of a loaded meet.

Sylvan Hills finished in fifth place in the 4x100 Relay, while the 4x400 Relay team took tenth place.

Sylvan Hills finished 11th in the boys division out of 25 teams. The top three spots went to Bryant, Little Rock Central and North Little Rock. The Lady Bears track team didn’t make the trip.
