Central Arkansas Christian’s softball team opened the week 2-2 after a pair of lopsided wins and two other lopsided defeats.

Amy Zini’s Lady Mustangs opened the season with an 18-3 win over Episcopal Collegiate; lost to Bauxite, 22-0; and Hazen, 13-4; before knocking off Joe T. Robinson, 19-1.

Against Robinson, the Lady Mustangs opened with a four-run first inning and went up 11-1 after two. They added four runs in the third and fourth to end the game early.

CAC finished with 19 runs, 19 hits and four errors. Robinson had one run, four hits and one error.

Kaleigh Kittinger delivered four hits while Taylor Kittinger added three for CAC. Jane Ross, Katie Fox and Cecily Young had two RBIs apiece.

Fox struck out seven batters.

CAC was scheduled to play Lonoke on Monday. The Lady Mustangs will play at Bauxite (7-0 to open the week) on Thursday before heading into spring break.
