Central Arkansas Christian sophomore Kyvin Carroll finished seventh in the boys shot put and freshman Kylie Hall seventh in the girls high jump at Saturday’s Meet of Champions at Russellville.

Carroll threw 47 feet, 9.75 inches. He had thrown 49-0.5 to finish fourth in the Class 4A State Meet.

Hall, who moved up from the junior high squad following that season, jumped 4-11 at the Meet of Champs. She had qualified by going 5 feet in a tie for second at the state meet.

“I was proud of the performance of both Kylie Hall and Kyvin Carroll,” CAC coach Chris Morse said.

Senior Amalie Gunn had qualified for the 100, 200 and 400 with her performance in the state meet but elected not to compete Saturday and instead join her Lady Mustang soccer teammates in the state semifinals. She scored four goals in the 7-0 win over Dardanelle.

Gunn had been one of just two athletes who qualified in all three sprints. She will be one of the leaders as the Lady Mustangs try to bring a seventh girls state soccer title to Mustang Mountain on Friday.
