After a rough start to the season, Sylvan Hills baseball put on their rally caps and have won eight of their last 10 games to improve to 9-7 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

The Bears, a traditional power in Class 5A, started the season with five losses in six games, playing mostly out-of-state competition in Louisiana’s Trey Altick Tournament.

Sylvan Hills also played in last week’s Central Arkansas Invitational where they beat Alma, 10-0, and Springdale, 14-6 but lost to Morrilton 11-6, and Bryant, 2-1.

Next up, and a big one is, Sylvan Hills will host North Little Rock at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Weather permitting of course.

Following that is a doubleheader with Jacksonville on Friday with first game at 4 p.m.

Next week is a busy one as well with a doubleheader against Little Rock Parkview and a weekend trip to Missouri for another tournament.


With Spring Break in the books, Sylvan Hills softball is back to the diamond and coach Mark Anderson’s team is sporting a 5-8 record overall, but 2-0 in conference play.

Sylvan Hills is on a hot streak, beating Little Rock Fair in a doubleheader then winning a home game against Benton on March 15. The Bears will now host Jacksonville ay 4p.m. on Friday, weather permitting and will travel to Paragould for a tournament hosted by Greene County Tech on Saturday.

Sylvan Hills is scheduled to face Rose Bud and Tech.

Next week will be a busy one for Sylvan Hills with games against Little Rock Parkview and Bentonville.
