Central Arkansas Christian’s Lady Mustangs won their first-round game Monday in the 4A-2 District Tournament, handling Centerpoint, 8-0.

Heading into Thursday’s semifinals, Carter Lambert’s team is 13-0 (10-0 in conference play) by a combined 100-1.

The district final is scheduled for Saturday. The Class 4A State Tournament will run May 10-12 at Batesville.

Last week, the Lady Mustangs celebrated Senior Night with a 9-1 win over Baptist Prep. The goal was the first scored against them in 2018.

CAC is aiming for a third consecutive — and eighth overall — state title. The Lady Mustangs trail only Class 7A Bentonville in all-time championships. The Lady Tigers won their eighth last season. The Lady Mustangs were state champs in 2006, ‘07, ‘08, ‘12, ‘13, ‘16 and ‘17; state. runner-up in 2009 and ‘15 and semifinalists in 2010, ‘11 and ‘14.
